#NME is now on Twitter

…as Mobilization4Equity. Check it out and follow us at @NatM4Equity  Getting a Twitter account came up at yesterday’s steering committee teleconference. A few tweeps among us have been using the #mobilization4equity hashtag when we remembered, which was not as often as we should have

Now that we are “officially” on Twitter, what next? Beside tweeting posts, we want to use the stream for quick announcements, sharing information,  advocating more effectively, and, above all, communicating. We started with following NME supporters and other streams related to our interests and posting RTs or “re-tweeting.”  Next comes remembering to add a Twitter widget to the page and our own account to the Twitter list.

PS Please share your follow recommendations too.

About @NatM4Equity

The National Mobilization for Equity is a coalition of organizations committed to alleviating the present staffing crisis in higher education: three-quarters of the teaching jobs in American colleges are held by underpaid, precarious and poorly-supported contingent faculty. Our long-term goal is to end contingency as the norm. The current untenable situation not only adversely affects all faculty members, both contingent and tenure-track, it also negatively impacts our profession, our students and the quality of their education.
